Title:
Exploring Communication Strategies to Increase Engagement with Digital Wellbeing Tools
Focus:
How communication strategies shape engagement with digital wellbeing tools.
Overview
In this collaborative research project with the University of Birmingham, a master’s student joined Social Media Resilience to explore how digital wellbeing tools can be more effectively communicated and embedded within organisations. The research is focused on understanding how both internal and external communication channels influence user engagement and stakeholder buy-in.
As organisations increasingly recognise the toll of digital fatigue, always-on culture, and fragmented focus, there is growing demand for wellbeing solutions that fit seamlessly into work life. This research project examined the role communication plays in shaping how such tools are adopted, perceived, and embedded within an organisation’s culture.

“I’m a postgraduate student in Marketing and Consulting at the University of Birmingham, with a background in fashion and digital communication. My interest in consumer behaviour, mental wellbeing, and the influence of digital fatigue led me to explore how effective communication can promote healthier screen habits.
Collaborating with Abi and SMR has been an exciting opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause—helping young students find balance and resilience in a digitally intense world. It’s a space where I can contribute meaningfully to a problem that’s deeply relevant to students today.”
